about

Released Winter Solstice 2019, a song about facing one's mortality. I wrote this song when I was sick and was determined not to be for very long. Sticking with the title, it starts out quite dark and lightens up as it goes.

lyrics

I fear nothing
but Nothingness
I’ve seen the end
The end of time

The darkness comes
No end’s in sight
In blackest dark
I seek the light

Its only time before my fortitude accrues its pool of endless energy that
always turns me toward the light

The livingness
I can’t deny
This is our time
By all means, try!

Its only time before I muster my full wellness to complete this chain of living
strong and turning to the light.

(Guitar and bridge)

Cause I’ve seen that sickness of the soul.
And I’ve seen the stuff that makes you whole again.
I’ve seen the darkness leave their eyes.
I’ve seen them turning toward the light.
but
Filtered and fooled, like jokers wild, the surprises
ambush and cajole you into
falling for stupidity but
You know inside that powerful glow
it can’t be denied
Turn it up bright

about

Jan Dylan Hunter Santa Rosa, California

I play all the instruments on all my recordings unless otherwise noted, my main tools being guitar, keyboard and percussion.

I grew up in the Virgin Islands where I learned steel pan, percussion and clarinet.

Since then living in other states like California exposed me to more culture. Recent trips throughout Europe and the US have also really widened my musicabulary.
-Still taking it all in.
