It Don't Bother Me None
03:36
|
|||
(Yawn)
Somebody’s tryin’ ta wake me up
Somethin’ bout “its time to get up”
If it wasn’t for them I guess it’d be the bright sun
It don’t bother me none
Out the door and I’m on my way
Workin’ for my pay through the day
(What’s left of it after tax is taken out)
So there ain’t much left to go on about
Some folks trying ta cause alot of grief
Some folks trying to lose me some sleep
I’m gettin’ the idea they want me to fall
But it don’t bother me at all
Like a fish outta water onna hop anna skip
I’ll be back inna flash notta long strange trip
Like a pooh bear stuck in the honey pot son
It don’t bother me none
I rise up strong
All day long
Never let them keep me
From singin’ my song
Ain’t gonna bother me no no no
Never let ‘em let em get you down no no
Yeah I rise up strong
All the long day
Just elevate my consciousness
Above the fray

Full Moon Shining
04:32
|
|||
Yeah alright
Yeah alright
Its a full moon shining
On a blessed night
Its a full moon shining
On a blessed night
Mystic moon rising over dark jungle
Lighting shapes of the ancient temple
Animals cry and the insects buzz
Feeling the pulse of the life of earth
Yeah yeah alright
Yeah yeah alright
So step up high and dip down low my brother
So step up high and dip down low my sister
So step up high my mother and my father
Shine
The full moon’s shining down
Climbing up and looking down from top the waterfall
Thunderous gushing torrent to the pool so far below
Primates howl at the luminous moon
Ancient jungle-blessing tunes, yeah
Inner spirit of mahogany
Creatures watching from the canopy
Its a vine or snake? No I can’t see
Such biodiversity
Full moon jamming in a jungle land (full moon jamming)
A-chuckin’ in a ridm in a chucky beat- bram! (keep on chuckin’)
Central America or Vietnam
Bring on the jungle jam
So get down on the style with it brother (my brother)
Get down jungle style with it sister (yeah my sister)
Jam down on this style everybody (everybody)
Full moon shining on the jam-down in the jungle!
Shine

All in All
03:08
|
|||
All in all the world around me folding into origami shapes
So complex
Origami-like I try to memorize the way to fold it back
Into shape
Shapes and shaded textures add dimensions to the folds I study them
In the frame
Framing all the nuances of aesthetics and connotative thought
In the folds
All in all
All in all
All in all
All in all in all in all in all
All in all
All in all
On and on and on and on and on

Rhetoric Wars
03:35
|
|||
See the divided lines
Lines drawn in the sand
Sand dug so deep into trench warfare
trenches full of hate and sadness
Its so sad how the TV lies
Lies from the servile actors
The spun truth, so contrived
Down here on the front lines
Up there, the engineers
Social reconstructors
Turn gears to crank out fear
To save us from ourselves
Who are these engineers?
Working for the puppet-masters
And who are the puppet-masters?
The filthy-rich pulling on our strings
You can’t trust the journalists
I flip through channels and they’re all the same
Online the censor searches
To move opinion in their chess games
I don’t want to be a pawn
I’m pulling back at my puppet strings right now
The truth will set us free
Let’s write our own history!
These are the rhetoric wars
Wars fought with information
Sensation, gut reaction
Split truth to divide factions
Fracked faked-out families
And friends who soon stop speaking
But we all want the very same thing
Truth, peace and prosperity
Truth, peace and prosperity
Truth, peace and prosperity

Simple Times
01:39
|
|||
Simple times are lost not forgotten
Simple times are always there
Simple times are lost not forgotten
Simple times are the best of times
Packed bags
Sunny weather
Ice cubes
Simple Times are the best times too
Sailboat
Wheelbarrow
Start the motor
Simple times are the best times too
Haircut
Warm handshake
Peekaboo
Simple times are the best times too
Fresh breeze
Pet the chicken
All together now
Simple times are the best times too

Validation Bounce
01:44
|
|||
I see the lengths some people go through
Just to validate
All of the points that they already made to
Justify their rage
As if doubling down on conviction
Changes the universe
Facts are facts and the numbers don’t lie
And the arguing makes it worse
Feel for them when the truth comes through
and they toss and they turn in bed
Feel for them when the truth comes through
and they change their story instead
I fear for them when their radicalness
Is old and so passe
Fear for them when their deeds are done
And the night becomes the day
No more fun when the riot’s done
No mob mentality
Four legs good and Two legs bad
like the Animal Farm story
Careful when you choose a side
And who you alienate
All-in-one when the troublin’s done
Its just people that you face
Survival
Denial
On trial
By Fire
Survival
Denial
On trial
By Fire

Ya Lie
03:34
|
|||
Hidden with folklore and stories of fantasy
Sweetened with promises of everlasting pleasant dreams
Islands of guardians and goddess-like blue-feathered beings
The trouble with faith is that faith is not everything
But I try try ta try try try
No you can’t trust a man that just explains away
all the promises that fell through
No you can’t trust a person with a cheap answer
to life’s mysteries with illusions
Oh now I know that ya lie lie lie lie lie lie
Oh now I know that ya lie lie lie lie lie lie
I tried to believe
ya lie lie lie lie lie lie
Uh oh ya lie lie lie lie lie lie
Prophesies of Mayans and ancient conspiracies
Meanings of numbers and sacred geometry
Sky-lands of giants with beanstocks and flying sleighs
Blind faith in fairy tales is what got us into this
But I try try ta try try try
I can’t be believing this
No you can’t trust a man that likes to twist the facts
to their own design to feel right
No you can’t trust a person that can’t ever learn
Cause they always turn to their lies
Oh now I know that ya lie lie lie lie lie lie
Oh now I know that ya lie lie lie lie lie lie

Burn So Bright
02:26
|
|||
In the form
of a poem
In the dark
We will roam
I am here
You are there
You are listening but
Do you hear?
With the force
of an image
I will let loose inside
I’ve never known until the darkest night yeah
How much space
Can you fill?
How much room
Can you spare?
I’ve seen the moon rise in the southern skies oh
Let it illuminate with glowing light yeah
In the form
Of a poem
Express
Your mind
In this tradition will the children rise
From the dark
To the light
Everyone
Has a right
You never know it till it burns so bright yeah
The creative light
You never know it till it burns so bright yeah
Burn brightly, oh so rightly, burning brightly

Just fading so suddenly

Jan Dylan Hunter Santa Rosa, California
I play all the instruments on all my recordings unless otherwise noted, my main tools being guitar, keyboard and
percussion.
I grew up in the Virgin Islands where I learned steel pan, percussion and clarinet.
Since then living in other states like California exposed me to more culture. Recent trips throughout Europe and the US have also really widened my musicabulary.
-Still taking it all in.
