Follow Through
07:44
|
|||
Many motions well conceived, designed and executed to the “T”
Never make it to delivery because someone forgot to follow through
From the acorn comes the old oak tree, roots and branches reach with certainty
Spinning planet turns to night- robs us of our continuity
Oh follow through! Follow through!
New decisions, you’re in control, inner visions to help you follow through
Oh gentle soul, Ah there is hope:
Just follow through...
Like playing tennis or swinging golf, like aid to sub-saharan Africa
There are many motions so well conceived designed and executed with a passion
That never make it to fruition because someone forgets to follow through
Oh follow through! Follow through!

The Wobbly Cruiser
03:40
|
|||
Here comes the wobbly cruiser in his latest ghetto contraption
Big fashion before its a function- mindless urge for conspicuous consumption
Funky whitewall tires wobble-bobble loosely
down the broken bricks of my anonymous city
while his secret admirers watch from roof tops
under plastic ribbons blowing in the wind
Here comes the wobbly cruiser,
he used to be the bruiser of his street
now his boobies flop in his wife-beater [undershirt]
while his head wobbles to the b-boyz beats
The sunset is graffiti spray dripping of bag wrapped around a street globe
There he goes with a subwoofer bump to the next block to circle the carrion
HERE COMES THE WOBBLY CRUISER
Under the gray water tower’s shade soot settles through the hazy sky-scraped night
Eight-year Mini gets her first little blade of the Milky Way through the cold city sky
True beauty will persist and thrive through the material emptiness and jive
to achieve all the poetry and soul necessary to fulfill our black holes
Our black holes.
HERE COMES THE WOBBLY CRUISER.

Simple Man
04:07
|
|||
Well I am a simple man. I like to do what I can,
contented to strum-up my guitar from the shade of an old straw hat.
YES I AM a simple music man and I have no complicated plans.
Except to hot-swap a couple riffs down from imagination land. Oui.
A simple man, yeah but I’m hearing funny sounds from the hole in my guitar.
Look around, check it out & listen to the dub. Well I am a simple man.
Playing my guitar for you yeah. Well, I AM a simple man.
Let me show you how simple I am.

Meth = Deth

Clean cut kid with his life ahead of him
trying something new tonight
The punks say its “head-candy, yeah just do it”
and everything’ll be alright
METHAMPHETAMINE DEATH SCENE
Takes him to the guillotine
Meth is death its plain to see
Severed life of a kid cut clean away
6 weeks later as he leans on the alley
10 years of life sucked down the drain
Lines begin to gouge his hollow face
and he’s losing hair and teeth and showing veins
Crystal meth is death you see
rotting people internally
It may not happen instantly
but I pity the fool who’s hooked on speed
2 months later and he’s stuck in jail
all twitchin’ and itchin’ for junk and no way to bail
Try to run, try to hide but he’s dead inside
METHAMPHETAMINE DEATH SCENE
Killin’ off our country’s teens
Meth is death its plain to see
Severed life of a kid cut clean-
-Cut down to the level of a sewer rat
Hiding in the daytime from the light
Preying crack-vultures circle high above
Laughing at him dying
Washing down the gutters with the white trash
Into piles of needles black with blood
Does this future sound like something you’d want to do?
METH=DEATH
Meth=Death
meth=death
Smart young kid with your life ahead of you try something better tonight
try something better tonight

Soul Finding
03:09
|
|||
Is there room in this wide, wide world for me?
Or am I just another plankton in the sea?
I played it cool through over 17 years of school
and they only taught me how to work for somebody
I want some soul finding, yeah soul finding.
Some people soul-searching but for me that’s not working.
I want some soul finding, yeah I hope you don’t mind it.
I got 20-20 hindsight but I still feel blinded.
I want that soul finding, gimme dat soul finding.
Its time to do it right for my future line-of-sight.
Soul Finding.

Jan Dylan Hunter Santa Rosa, California
I play all the instruments on all my recordings unless otherwise noted, my main tools being guitar, keyboard and
percussion.
I grew up in the Virgin Islands where I learned steel pan, percussion and clarinet.
Since then living in other states like California exposed me to more culture. Recent trips throughout Europe and the US have also really widened my musicabulary.
-Still taking it all in.
